The Obedient Life
A few days ago, I was at my uncle's house. At night, during our family prayer, he asked my aunt to read Deuteronomy 28:1–14 and pray through it. As I listened, that night I began meditating deeply on those verses—and what truly caught my heart wasn’t just the blessings.
It was the condition:
“If you fully obey the Lord your God…” (Deut 28:1)
Only one thing God asked for — obedience. And in return, 14 verses full of blessings.
That night, I realized:
God is not asking us to chase blessings, He’s asking us to walk in obedience. The blessings follow automatically.
Today, many people want to be the head, not the tail… blessed in the city and the field… enemies fleeing… but forget the root of it all: a heart that says “Yes, Lord.”
Once, my dad told me that obedience is not about being perfect—it’s about trusting God enough to follow Him. It’s easy to sacrifice things for God, but it’s much harder to obey Him in the small, daily things. But remember:
“Obedience is better than sacrifice.” (1 Samuel 15:22)
God blesses the willing, not the perfect. One step of obedience can open doors you never imagined. So today, don’t chase blessings. Chase His voice.
Because where obedience is, heaven follows.
